Heat wave ๐
Heatwave, such an interesting movie. The movie presented upon how Watts riots occurred and how racism was still in after the civil rights law passed. I found the movie interesting from the beginning, yet it seemed most interesting when African Americans had big dreams for the future and would be disappointing that the business or company wouldn't hire just because of their color. From watching this movie it reminds me that many Americans are still racist against colored or other people that aren't their same skin color and truly its disappointing. On the other hand, during this movie it presents a male African American named Bob Richardson becoming a reporter for the Los Angeles Times but first he started off as a messenger and he would find stories within the riots and conducted interviews to get on the paper. During the riots the editor in chief ( if I am correct) needed someone to go in the riots and get stories, interviews , and see in different perspectives why the community is rioting, Bob Richardson stepped up and wanted the story and wouldn't take no as an answer. As a journalist I see that if I want to cover a story you have to be the first one and take no as an answer and step up to the plate and get that story. It was an amazing movie to learn something new about being a journalist. However,Being a journalist can also be dangerous because of what ha been happening in Iran with Isis and kidnapping journalist an be heading them.
